Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.

Greetings from an English 19-year-old studying architecture in Oxford. I adore Morrissey and The Smiths, wine, classic films, jumpers, and Irish things. Frasier is my favourite TV show. When I'm not slogging away at course work I'll be posting these things on here.

Just spent a whole day without electricity or water.

(My student village had a power cut from 10am to 8pm-ish). And while it sucked, I have to say it was a big eye-opener. I don’t think I realised quite how much I depend on electricity. It’s been such a long day, having to battle the different difficulties. Couldn’t use the toilet in my room, or any taps, or even call my parents who are visiting tomorrow, without having to find a payphone. It did give me time to read Wilde’s Salome though! Now time to reflect on the wonders of technology. I used to wonder what it would be like to experience a day without the measure of time - well, for half of today I had no idea what the time was - apart from the gradual decline into darkness of my room - and y’know what? It sucked.
